French University offers Scholarship to UPES student
Tanushree of B.Tech(Final Year) invited for her Masters in ESNMM, France

Dehradun, 9th September 2016:

Ms. Tanushree khattri pursuing B. Tech Power System Engineering of Electrical Power and Energy from the UPES, Dehradun got a glorious opportunity in her life when she was meritoriously selected for a two month internship in a French University.  She was with ‘Ecole Nationale Superiere de Mechanique des Microtechnique, Besancon, France (ESNMM, France) from June to August this year. ESNMM one of the oldest universities in France was established in 1902. The university also finds its place in Top 100 Universities.  During her tenure, in Electrical Engineering Lab at Plateforme Department of ENSMM University, France; Tanushree has worked on the project ‘Development a 3D Intra oral scanner’.  Elaborating her work Mr Arun Dhand, Director – Media affairs in UPES explained that the scanner developed by her using the mirror rotation technology under the able guidance of Dr Karim Houchine, head of the department, Plateforme in ENSMM will not only take 50% less time than compared to existing scanners in the market but will also produce images with precision of less than 5 microns as compared to 15-20 microns of the existing scanners. This scanner will be of immense use in the Dental medical science and it will be a great help to Ortho dentists and a big relief to the patient with Denture problems because it would be able to make a 180 degree single scan of the entire denture instead of the sectional scans being made today he said. This project of 3-D scanner was given to the French University for research and development by a company called E-Twym, owned and headed headed by Mr. Jerom Buiret. Before Tanushree left for India the prototype made by her was successfully tested at ENSMM and she has been offered to pursue her masters in the French University on a scholarship.
Daughter of a Colonel Sanjay Khattri, Tanushree merrily says, “Yes, it has been a life thrilling experience. From cooking to washing your clothes to meeting new people with complete different background and learning French, everything has been ecstatic. Plus working with a company for the first time in the Internship was like cherry on the cake. No doubt I come back as a different person with a different lookout towards life.
She attributes her success for facilitating her internship at ENSMM to Dr Ugur Guven, Vice President of International Affairs in UPES and to Dr N B Soni, Head of the department of Electrical, Power & Energy Department in UPES. Two of her favorite teachers in UPES who she has always looked up to and who have always assisted her during her course have been Dr R Isaac, Assistant Professor in her department and Mr. Ram Mohan Sharma, Industry Fellow in her department.  Tanushree is also grateful to Ms. Nathalie Boudeau, Director of International Affairs on ENSMM, France for taking care of her as a family member.
